Lithuania Concludes Joint Cyber Defence Ops with US
In efforts to boost interoperability and to maximise resilience of critical networks to cyber threats, Lithuania and the US have wrapped up the joint cyber defence operation.
The first joint project with US CYBERCOM was intended to deal with cyber threats, according to a press release.
“The war against Ukraine has demonstrated that cyberattacks are an inseparable element of modern military campaigns,” said Deputy Defence Minister Margiris Abukevičius.
He explained, "We have to prepare and build up capabilities for safeguarding our key networks, during war and peace alike, in advance. The three months of the operation in Lithuania offers a wealth of intelligence and skills to all participants."
This joint operation saw the involvement of the US CYBERCOM team and specialists from the National Cyber Security Centre and the IT Service of the Defence Ministry.
